Development of various spots in Bhopal is necessary for the recreation of citizens as well as tourists. For this purpose, a Boat Club will be constructed in the Lower Lake and a jetty at the Takia island in the Upper Lake. These instructions were issued by Urban Administration and Development Minister Shri Babulal Gaur during his visit to areas near Upper and Lower lakes here today. Bhopal Mayor Smt. Krishna Gaur, BMC Commissioner Shri Manish Singh and officers of Tourism, Fisheries and other departments were also present on the occasion.
First of all, Shri Gaur inspected Boat Club at Upper Lake and instructed the officers to construct a more beautiful Boat Club and jetty at the Lower Lake.
Takia island''s inspection
Shri Gaur reached Takia island in the Upper Lake by a boat for the first time and inspected Shah Ali Shah''s mausoleum and park there. He paid his obeisance at the Dargah and instructed the officers to beautify and spruce up the Dargah as per Islamic traditions, ensure lighting and security arrangements at the island, develop an attractive park and make arrangements for drinking water. He instructed that beautification of the island and construction of a jetty there should be undertaken. Shri Gaur said that these works will attract more tourists towards the island and will ultimately lead to increase in income. He called for a total ban on commercial activities at the island.
New Boat Club to be constructed near Neelam Park
Later, Shri Gaur inspected Neelam Park on the banks of Lower Lake in Jahangirabad. He instructed the officers to ensure sanitation, install fountains in the park and make arrangements for lighting and security. He instructed the officers to construct a Boat Club and a jetty there. Shri Gaur said that a parking lot should be developed in a portion of the park for the benefit of tourists. He instructed the concerning officers to prepare the project reports of new Boat Club and development of Takia island within a week. During discussion, Shri Gaur informed that arrangements of boating will be made in the Lower Lake and Shahpura Lake with the cooperation of MP Tourism Department and Bhopal Nagar Nigam.
MP Tourism Development Corporation''s general manager Shri RP Chauhan, advisor Naval Commander (retired) Rajendra Nigam, Joint Director of Fisheries Department etc accompanied the minister.
