The construction work of four-lane over-bridge proposed from AIIMS trisection to Habibganj under-bridge should be started soon. Directives in this regard were issued by Honorable Urban Administration and Development (UAD) Minister Babulal Gaur here on Tuesday.
Taking account of the legal tangles between Bhopal Municipal Corporation (BMC) and Railway authorities over the one-kilometre long over-bridge, the Minister also convened a meeting of senior officials on Tuesday evening.
Bhopal Mayor Krishna Gaur accompanied the Minister during the visit. Shri Gaur was of the view that the work of over-bridge should be started soon.
Later, Shri Babulal Gaur also went to the Rohit Nagar and Pampapur slum areas near the MANIT Square and took stock of the rehabilitation work in process there.
Notably, the 1,260 families residing in the slum areas are being temporarily rehabilitated at Shyamla Hills area.
Under the pilot project Jawaharlal Nehru National Urban Renewal Mission (JNNURM), triple storied flats will be constructed in the Rohit Nagar and Pumpapur areas.
The Mayor directed the officials for providing all basic facilities in Shyamla Hills — the area where the slums dwellers were being shifted temporarily.
BMC Commissioner Manish Singh apprised the officials that the work in the 6 acres of land area would be started within 15 days after completing the rehabilitation process.
The Minister also went to Bapu Nagar in the Kotra Sultanabad area. The area is reserved for developing a weekly haat market after shifting of the 241 families residing there to Shabri Nagar.
Going through the beautification work on the Link Road Number 2, Shri Gaur directed the officials of coming up with a fountain on the Seven Number Bus Stop Square near the BJP’s State office.
